I am very excited to be teaching at music at both Ledgewood and Stone Creek for the 15th year and to be a part of the Kinnikinnick School District. I am looking forward to a great year with all of the students as we explore the world of music together.
I did my undergraduate work at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. I graduated in 1993 and have been teaching music ever since. In 2001 I completed my Master's degree at VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, which has one of the finest graduate programs for music educators in the country.
I have had the opportunity to teach students in grades K-12 and have taught instrumental music, choral music, elementary music, and art and music appreciation at one time or another over the past 26 years.
I am a passionate supporter of the arts, as they provide our students with many skills needed for 21st Century learners. Music in particular helps to foster creativity and outside of the box thinking. Through participation in music students also learn how to work as part of a group and the importance of each each person in a team setting.
